Elisabeth Mae Edler Hull, age 85, passed away peacefully in her home July 20, 2009. She was born 22 May 1924 in Bonanza, Klamath County, Oregon to Frederick Emil Edler and Celia Adelia McCallister. She married William Lloyd Hull on December 14, 1941. They were divorced June of 1971.
She grew up in the mountain communities of Prospect, Bonanza and Lake Creek in southern Oregon. She moved to Northern California in 1950, where she raised her family in Citrus Heights, Roseville and Auburn. She worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. Lindgren, Dr. Benjamin Cutshall and the Roseville Livestock Auction. From 1973 to August 1978 she worked for the City of Roseville. She then moved to Springville, Utah to work in the Purchasing Department at Brigham Young University. She retired April 14, 1989 and moved to Overton, Nevada to be near her children and grandchildren.
She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on January 1, 1956. She was an active member of the church for over 53 years, where she served in many capacities including Relief Society President, teacher in Relief Society, Sunday School and Primary. She also served as pianist and organist. She sang in the ward choir throughout her life. She served in the Las Vegas Temple for over nine years, being released in 2006.
She loved to can fruit, jams and jellies. She crocheted afghans and doilies and made quilts especially for her children and grandchildren. She wrote poetry and songs. She kept journals for 37 years. She loved music, playing the piano, organ and accordian. She always had a garden. She had a profound influence on her children, grandchildren and friends. She was deeply loved and respected by her family and all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Blaine of Prospect, Oregon and both of her parents. Survivors include two sons and two daughters: William Lloyd, Jr (Susan) of Stockton, CA; Sherra Lee (Dale) Bailey of Overton, NV; Fredrick John (Shirlene) of Big Water, UT; Bonnie Jean (Wesley) Yamashita of Overton, NV; 26 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale Hinckley Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, July 24, 2009 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary and again from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel.
