Eleanor Fay Nielson, 77, passed away April 20, 2011 in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born September 13, 1933 in the Virgin Valley area to David Arthur and Gertha Barnum Linge . On August 13, 1950 she married Louis Darnae Nielson in Leamington, Utah. They raised their family in Kanosh, Utah and in 1963 moved to Bunkerville, Nevada.

Eleanor worked as a cook and waitress at several of the old cafes in Mesquite. She owned and operated the Valley Inn Club Steakhouse. She enjoyed working puzzles, crocheting and quilting. She also loved being outdoors. She will fondly be remembered by her children for her witty sense of humor.

Eleanor is survived by three sons and three daughters: Gary Louis (Jessie) of Bunkerville, NV; Barbara Lynn (Richard) Herring of Elma, WA; LaFaye Leavitt of McCall, ID; Kevin Darnae (Kim) of Bunkerville, NV; Kim Wayne of Bunkerville, NV; Brenda Sue (Bob) Snell of Mesquite, NV; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; two brothers and six sisters: Marion, Arlene, Clarissa, Myrna, Russell, Mary, Leta and James. She was preceded in death by one brother, Dave.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Bunkerville Cemetery under the direction of Virgin Valley Mortuary.
