Eldon Guy "Tick" Cooper, age 90, died Saturday, January 5, 2012 at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born May 15, 1922 in Overton, Nevada to Mendis Diego and Annie Johnson Cooper. On September 30, 1945 he married Carol Jean Mitchell in Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2002. Tick grew up in Moapa Valley. He raised his family in Las Vegas working in grocery store management and later as a Teamster Union Representative. He retired after working many years for Valley Distributing where he worked as a route salesman. He enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. He was well known for his famous pomegranate jelly. Survivors include three daughters: Brenda (John) Ward of Las Vegas, NV; Marsha (Dennis) Dudley of Page, AZ; Glenna (Michael) Merket of Soldotna, AK; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Brown of Henderson, NV and one brother, Bill (Vaneeta) Cooper of Logandale, NV. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Civic Center Ward Chapel, 2401 East Tonopah Avenue, North Las Vegas, Nevada 89030. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. in the Overton Pioneer Hill Memorial Cemetery.
