Edward Brass, age 81, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, March 23, 2009. He was born May 12, 1927 in Fremont, Nebraska to Donald Clarence and Selma Lucille Swaim Brass. On September 15, 1950 he married Virginia Mae Kingry in Fremont, Nebraska.
Edward grew up in Fremont, Nebraska. He served in the Navy and the Merchant Marines. After the birth of his daughters, Edward moved his little family to Pasco, WA, where he built and owned a mobile home park. They have been residents of Overton for almost 10 years. Edward was an avid motorcycle rider and very mechanically inclined. He could make just about anything and his favorite place to be was his workshop. Recently he has been involved with Seniors, Inc at the Senior Center and for 50 plus years was affiliated with the United Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry.
Survivors include two daughters: Sandra (Scott) Jenkins of South Jordan, UT and Sheri (Robert) Carter of Moses Lake, WA: 3 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: one sister, Viola F Brass Grubbs and one brother, Richard, who died in infancy.
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 27. 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Calvary Community Church, Overton, Nevada. Arrangements under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary.
