Edna Mae Popplewell

Edna Mae Popplewell (78) passed away January 1, 2009 in her home in Overton. Edna was born January 31, 1930 in Indiana to Dan Hammack and Lizzie Darnell.

Enda grew up mostly in Kentucky, but over the years had lived in many different locations, working as a waitress. She came to Overton about 13 years ago and grew to love the valley and the people in it. She especially loved her grandchildren.

Edna is survived by three children: Tommy Popplewell, Tammy Bickerton and Susan Popplewell all of Overton; 9 grandchildren: including Wyatt Stites, Sydney Fitch and Tiffany Merrill; and 5 great-grandchildren: Terrance and Olivia (Tiffany) and her "Brown Biscuits" Skylee, Adrain and Elysum (Sydney); and three siblings: Francis Bauermiester (Indiana), Tommy Croan (Florida) and Lillian Hammack (Arizona).

Memorial Services were held Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Lake Mead Baptist Church.
