Edith Aileen Lampkin

Edith Aileen Lampkin, age 78, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at her home in Logandale, Nevada. She was born April 19, 1936 to Sanford and Aileen Cummings Meyers. Her mother preceded her in death at a very young age. She was married to Wallace R. Lampkin. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1991. Edith grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. She raised her family in Jackson, New Jersey where she worked various jobs, including as an insurance salesperson and later as an account executive with Coe Insurance Agency. She was fluent in ASL (American Sign Language). She drove the school bus for special needs children in Trenton, NJ. She later traveled and worked with Regis Auditing Company in Kentucky, New Jersey and Las Vegas. She was always energetic and fun to be with. She enjoyed reading, opera and jazz music, playing the piano, sewing and dancing. She loved playing board games and being with family. Survivors include two daughters: Paula Wikan of Bunkerville, NV; Kathleen (David) Broyles of Logandale, NV; one step son, Randall (Linda) Lampkin of Rahway, NJ; one step daughter, Susan Hamlin of Princeton, NJ; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one sister, Joyce Hack of Louisville, KY. Private family services will be held.
