Henry Edward "Eddie" Alcorn, age 69, died peacefully Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born August 7, 1945 in Phoenix, Arizona then adopted a few days later by O'Henry and Lottie Irene Webb Alcorn. On June 20, 1967, he married Lillie Henry in Las Vegas. They had three children and were later divorced. On December 31, 1993 he married Ravenna "Bennie" Tobiasson in Las Vegas.
Eddie grew up in Bisbee, Arizona, Boulder City, Nevada and finally in Las Vegas. He raised his family in Las Vegas where he worked as a stage hand in the union at various hotels. He later worked for EG&G at the test site. He really enjoyed owning and operating his own welding shop, B&E Fabrication with his wife, Bennie. This shop was a gathering spot for neighbors, family and friends. Work was often donated, along with good BBQ and good stories. He loved guns, shooting and hunting. He had a heart of gold and enjoyed people.
Survivors include his wife, Bennie; one son and two daughters: Robert (Laura) of Keller, TX; Catherine Granger; Erin Myers both of Las Vegas; one stepson and three step daughters: Kyna (Mike) Nelson of Alamo, NV; Wendy (Kenny) Canfield of St. George, UT: Cleo (Kim) Jorgensen; Becky (Clint) Gunter both of Las Vegas; fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4525 N. Rainbow Blvd., Las Vegas, NV. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. in the Logandale Cemetery.
