Earl Scott Gressmen, 62, Mesquite, Nevada, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. He was born April 29, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Scott graduated from Granger High School in West Valley City, Utah and immediately followed in his beloved Grandfather Mark's footsteps by going to work for the Union Pacific Railroad, eventually becoming national sales manager servicing two companies. Ford Motor and GM. His career took him many places, living in Omaha, NE, Pittsburg, PA, and Detroit, MI. Toward the end of the 1990s, Scott worked for Ford Motor in many countries making sure their computers were prepared for Y2K. During those years he married and became the father of four children; John, Tyler, Jessica, and Zack, as well as two grandchildren. As a child and throughout his life, Scott enjoyed baseball, golf, music, computers, and trains, especially Union Pacific trains. In 2003 he moved to Mesquite, Nevada to be near family where he worked for Walmart as a department manager. While in Mesquite, he met the love of his life and his fiancAC. Carol George. She became everything he had ever dreamed of and they were like two peas-in-a-pod, spending all of their time together, along with their two dogs (Stanley and Angel) and their parrot (Ollie). Their love only increased as he took care of Carol following her lung transplant and was able to dedicate all of his time following his retirement in April of 2012. Carol worked hard to help him through rough spots in his life. Scott was a very compassionate and giving person, he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a member of CERT. He was indeed a blessing to all those who knew him and will continue to be a blessing as an organ donor following his passing. Scott's humor, bold personality and family leadership will be sorely missed. He is survived by his fiancAC., Carol George; his mother, Bonnie Gressmen of Mesquite, NV; father, Bart Gressmen of Hurricane, UT; two brothers, Bret Gressmen of Mesquite, NV, and Tracy (Denise) Gressmen of Cottonwood Heights, UT; and one sister, Debbie (Tom) Hinkley of Salt Lake City, UT. Arrangements are under the care of Virgin valley Mortuary, Mesquite, NV. In lieu of flowers, an account at Mountain America Credit Union for Carol George will be accepting donations.
