Dorothy Ruth Willmore

Dorothy Ruth Willmore, age 93, died peacefully Sunday, February 14, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born August 5, 1922 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan to Israel Clare and Lillian B. Mudge. On November 29, 1941 she married Thomas William Willmore in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. He preceded her in death on September 6, 1992.

Dotty grew up in Michigan. She raised her family in Pasadena, California, retired to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, then moved to Eugene, Oregon, and Portland, Oregon, before settling in Henderson, Nevada for the last nine years. She worked as a Liason Officer for Bank of America for over 25 years. She was a devoted Catholic and donated her time teaching catechism to the little children for over 25 years. She was a remarkable Lady, at Christmas she went without gifts for herself, so she would have enough food to open our family home to all neighbors, family, friends, and even the Priests and Nuns would come and enjoy the feast. That was her philosophy throughout her life as no one ever came over without her offering them food and drink. She also enjoyed feeding the animals, especially the bluebirds who would even follow her to work, wait her shift, then follow her home again for their peanuts. She truly enjoyed life and shared that joy with a big smile on her face. She loved her husband Tom whom they were blessed to have each other for 50 years as they celebrated in Hawaii with their Granddaughter who was soon to have a son and whose Marine husband was stationed there. Her death was on Valentine's Day, Dad had been waiting over 24 years for his Sweetheart so what a Celebration in Heaven they are having!

Survivors include one son and two daughters: Tom (Christi) of St. Louis, MO; Dottie (her late husband Stan) Roser of Henderson, NV; Linda (Pat) Ryan of Sun City West, AZ; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one great great grandson due in June; one brother(Clare) and two sisters(Judy&Beth). She was preceded in death by one sister(Mickey).
