Dorothy "Dottie" June Van Cleave Smith, 83, peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at her home in Mesquite, NV, with family at her side. She was born June 2, 1928, in Needles, CA to Guy and Socorro Van Cleave. Dottie enjoyed golf, travel, hunting and fishing, and doing crossword puzzles. She married James "Smitty" William Smith in 1946. They have nine children, 22 grandchildren, and currently 12 great grandchildren. Dottie's husband, her parents, and her son, John Gregory "Greg" Smith, preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, James W. Smith, Jr. (Pat), Taylorsville, UT; Sharon L. Mosher (Larry), Ogden, UT; Christopher L. Smith (Sandra), Surprise, AZ; Rebecca A. Taylor, Ogden, UT; Colette S. Douglas ( Dennis), Leesburg, FL; Guy Z. Smith, Mesquite, NV; Mark A. Smith (Sandy), Las Vegas, NV; and Timothy S. Smith (Holly), Ogden, UT. Arrangements are under the care of Virgin Valley Mortuary, Mesquite, NV. There are no services planned at this time.
