Dorothy Gordon Bluhm

Dorothy Gordon Bluhm, age 70, passed March 3, 2010 in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born September 30, 1939 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming to Daniel James and Mildred McEntire Gordon.

Dorothy grew up in Jackson, Wyoming, Idaho Falls, Rexburg, Idaho and eventually moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she graduated from South High School. She married Ronald L. Healey in Salt Lake City, Utah . She later divorced and moved to Boise where she worked for Idaho Power and Light Company and became the executive secretary. She later moved back to Salt Lake to be closer to her family and gained employment with Kebbler as the secretary. Met Leo Bluhm and was married in Reno, Nevada on New Years Eve in 1988. In the late 1990's they moved to Mesquite. Leo passed away in July of 2000.

Dorothy was an active person her whole life. In Boise she acted in plays and musicals. After moving to Mesquite her talent bloomed as she was involved with the Mesquite Toes(secretary), Desert Half Notes, Red Hat Diva (board member), served as President of the Desert Dames, contestant for Miss Senior Mesquite in 2006, Secretary of the Exchange Club and the Methodist Church, the Mesquite Theater acting in plays and a willing volunteer for any activity in the community of Mesquite. She was an avid bowler, loved gardening, dancing, singing, decorating, and spending time with friends and family.

Dorothy is survived by two children, Russell S. Healey of Ogden, Utah, Jennifer (Shawn) Andreasen of Murray, Utah, four grandchildren, Hayden, Andrew, Sarah, Natasha, a brother Daniel Gordon, a sister Shirley Gordon Madsen and her loving poodle Princess. She is preceded in death by her Husband Leonard Bluhm, siblings Marion Gordon Marshall, James Gordon, Diane Elaine McMillian, a niece Shelly Marshall, a nephew Randy Marshall.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Community Christian Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Dorothy Bluhm's name.
