Donald Peter Lilja

Donald Peter Lilja, age 74, passed away June 12, 2008 at his home in Desert Skies Resort, Arizona. He was born November 2, 1933 to Carl Lilja and Mildred Severson in Proctor, Minnesota.

Donald grew up in Minnesota and joined the Army after graduation from highschool. Donald and some friends moved out to Washington seeking work when he was hired by Boeing. He worked for Boeing and became a supervisor prior to retiring in 1990. He married Lynne Sharon Potter in Edmonds, Washington on February 22, 1962. Together they had two children. After retirement Donald and Lynne became snow birds; spending the summers in Washington and the winters in Arizona. They moved to the Desert Skies Resort permanently in 2005.

Donald loved to golf, travel, and geography. In his travels he would chart every detail of the trip. His son said he was the most honest man that he had ever met.

Donald is survived by his wife Lynne Lilja of Desert Skies Resort, Arizona, two children Karen Lilja and Mike Lilja both of Camano Island, Washington, five grandchildren: Ashley, Chelsie, Kelsey, Matt, and Karlee and one great grand child to be here in July; a brother-in-law Gene Soderholm and many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents Carl and Mildred Lilja and a sister Yvonne.
