Donald Duane Lear, 74, passed away suddenly, March 24, 2018 at his home in Scenic, AZ. He was born May 22, 1943 in Great Falls, MT to Donald R. Lear and Phyllis Maybelle Wing. Don married Sharon A. Unruh on April 15, 1961 in Sidney, MT. They met when they were in high school and dated until their marriage and would have been married 57 years on April 15, 2018.
Don was raised and educated in Richey, MT. He joined the Army and spent two tours in Vietnam. Don was one of the last remaining Vietnam Combat Veterans. After leaving the army, they moved to Bloomfield, MT and he farmed until retirement. For the last 18 years they spent winters in California and Arizona and the summers in Montana.
Don is survived by his wife Sharon; of Scenic, AZ; son; Tony Lear (Dova) of Colstrip, MT; son; Trent Lear of Sacramento, CA; granddaughter; Dova Ann (Kade Compton), great grandson; Karver Compton, grandson; Mason Lear, both of Billings, MT; sisters; Maybelle Johnson (Jim-deceased); Robin Martin (Gary) both of Great Falls, MT; Shelly Swort (Terry) who are retired and traveling. He was fortunate to also have many nieces and nephews. Don is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, this summer in Montana, with date and time to be announced in the local newspaper.
