Donald C. Jansson

Donald Jansson, age 85, died Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at his home in Overton, Nevada. He was born October 27, 1930 in Shelton, Washington to Lawrence O. And Berniece Robbins Richard. On June 23, 1956 he married Violet Schugaard in California. She preceded him in death on December 13, 1994. On October 14, 2002 he married Bonnie Olsen Fredrickson in Pahrump, Nevada.

Donald grew up in Shelton and Southern California. As a young man he worked as a mechanic, boat mechanic and as a carpenter. He raised his family in Huntington Beach, California where he worked as a crane operator in the Long Beach Shipyard. His claim to fame is a world record crane lift of the Hughes H4 Hercules Aircraft on October 29, 1980, recognized by Guinness Book of Records. Donald loved flying ultralights and traveling in his motor home. He enjoyed being a camp host and getting to know people.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of Overton; one son and three daughters: Karen Foster of Indianapolis, IN; Kathy (Jeff) Reneau of Huntington Beach, CA; Billy of Kingman, AZ; Karol (Mike) Cassady of Corona, CA; step daughter, Eva Marie (Cade) Leeder of Cedar City, UT; step son, Eddy of Overton, NV; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one sister, Heidi Jansson of Santa Maria, CA.

Private family services will be held.
