Dixie Penrod

September 20, 1940 — February 15, 2016

Dixie DeAnna Davis Penrod, age 75, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at her home in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born a stunning red head on September 20, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Roy Franklin and Doris Elaine McDonald Davis. On December 16, 1957 she married Wayne Melvin Beagley in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had three children and were later divorced. On January 19, 1982 she married Ronald Cleve Penrod in Alabama. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2005.

Dixie lived most of her life in Salt Lake City, where she grew up and raised her family. She moved to "Sunny" Mesquite, Nevada for the last fifteen years where she enjoyed friends and being outdoors. She was an avid golfer, even getting a hole in one at the Casa Blanca on the eighth hole. She was a beautiful classy lady and always dressed to the "T". Dixie could always be seen driving her cherished silver Corvette around Mesquite. She was a seamstress, an artist and an interior decorator. Her greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include one son and two daughters: Joni (Eddie) Narramore of Buckeye, AZ; Julie Ann Freestone of Murray, UT; Cary (Joni) Beagley of Taylorsville, UT; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four younger brothers: Mike (Linda) Davis of Salt Lake City, UT; Steve (Colleen) Davis of Sandy, UT; John (Gloria) Davis of Emigration Canyon, UT and Patrick (Haydee) Davis of Salt Lake City, UT.

Graveside goodbyes will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Mesquite City Cemetery. There will be a gathering with the family afterwards at Dixie’s home for refreshments. Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book
