Mesquite, NV- Dixie L. Oldfather, 76, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born February 10, 1936 in Pima, Arizona to John William Johnson and Madeline Merrill. She shared her life with John Price for the best part of twenty seven years.
Dixie was raised in Miami, Arizona and graduated from Miami High School. She lived in Mesquite, Nevada for the last twenty years and during that time summered in Fruitland, Utah; in the cabin where she loved watching the hummingbirds and feeding chipmunks. Her favorite little buddies were her dogs, Howie and Jetter, who she loved teaching tricks to. She was an avid bowler and knew football stats better than anyone.
She is survived by John Price of Mesquite, NV; her daughter Karen (Butch) Ambrosius of Page, AZ; her son Bill Oldfather of Tempe, AZ; Mickey and Lisa Price of Crescent City, CA; Chris and Amanda Price of Temple, TX; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday, September 14, 2012 at 9:00 am at the Mesquite City Cemetery. There will be a gathering of family and friends after the service at the home of John and Dixie. Arrangements are under the direction of Virgin Valley Mortuary, 320 E. Old Mill Rd. Mesquite, NV.
