Dennis Warner Gubler

Dennis Warner Gubler, age 72, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born March 25, 1942 in Overton, Nevada to Ernest Vernon and Bertha Adeline Shurtliff Gubler. On October 21, 1961 he married Donna Jean Rodgers in Overton, Nevada.

Dennis grew up in Overton. He worked for 25 years with the Union Pacific Railroad. For a time, the family lived in Yermo, California where Dennis was active in coaching his children's sports team. He was instrumental in getting a sports complex built for the youth of the community. They moved back to Moapa Valley in 1986 where he continued to work, even opening and running the Valley Service Center.

Dennis always loved being in the outdoors with family. He built and rode dune buggies, 4 wheelers and loved camping. His children and grandchildren looked forward to him coming home from a hard day of work, ready to play hard and support them in their activities. Grandpa loved everyone.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Moapa; two sons and three daughters: Warren (Pamela) of Las Vegas, NV; Craig (Norma) of Hurricane, UT; Shona (Jeff) Longman of Logandale, NV; Denna (Lloyd) Leavitt of Delta, UT; Shella (Tim) Gordon of Moapa, NV; 21 grandchildren; one great grand daughter; two brothers and four sisters: Amber Terry of St. George, UT; Delma Johnson of CA; Ramond (Yorel) Barlow of Las Vegas, NV; Audrey (Jinx) Johnson of Logandale, NV; Doug Gubler of Pahrump, NV and Verla (Elwyn) Adams of Logandale, NV. He was preceded in death by one sister, Colleen.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Moapa LDS Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery.
