Dennis W Brayton

January 10, 1940 — August 10, 2020

Mesquite

Born in Washington, Iowa to Maurice and Dorothy Brayton. If you knew him, you know he was a mountain of a man. He was a true cowboy. His work ethic was one like most have never seen and his expectation of the people in his presence were even higher. He taught his great-grandchildren, grandchildren & daughters; Patti DuBois (Mark), Dennise Crow (Robert) Michelle Hampsten, and Kimberly Hawkins (David) to work hard, never expect a handout, & value money. He taught them to hunt and fish, love the water and the great outdoors. He loved trucks and tractors, he loved music and dancing and loved animals. Mostly he loved his childhood sweetheart Sharon, who became his wife in 1960. She preceded him in death 25 years ago.

Dennis was a forest service ranger, and a Battalion Chief for the fire department in Lake Arrowhead, CA., a professional fisherman and a contractor in Boulder City, NV., He also fulfilled his dream of being a rancher in Panguitch, UT. He excelled at each, but he loved ranching most. He was a hero, our hero! A protector, our protector! He was a great son, a great brother to his sister Mary Ruth Simpson (Edward), and an amazing dad. He was pop pop, pops, grandpa and DW!

He will be greatly missed. Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.virginvalleymortuary.com
