Delwin Eugene Weeks

Heavenly Father called Delwin home on the 10th of December 2019 in Mesquite, Clark, Nevada, his  life began on the 5th of July, 1935 in Casper Natrona, Wyoming coming to loving parents, Samuel Erwin Weeks and Ellen Myrtle Coleman Weeks. Delwin welcomed his first brother, Gary Erwin Weeks, followed by Rodney Allard Weeks and his third brother, Richard Owen Weeks, which completed the family.
Delwin attended McKinley Elementary School from Kindergarten thru 7th grade.  Then 8th grade to Jr. High he attended (NCHS) Natrona County High School, graduating in 1953. He was a member of the ROTC program in high school and participated in choir.  He also participated in various activities in school and community, such as, automotives and Boy Scouts.
Delwin met his life long sweetheart, Della Arlene Riley in High School.  They were married on the 30th of January 1953 in Casper WY and spent the last 66 plus years together. To this union they welcomed Connie Renee Weeks Hammon, Carolyn Lynn Weeks, Delwin Randahl Weeks, and Douglas Andrew Weeks.
Delwin’s first job was hanging upside down at a bowling alley setting pins.  He moved on to West Ridge Commissary as a stock boy and sacker for groceries.  In High School he worked as  a gas station attendant. To support his family, he started working in the oil industry in Casper WY.  He worked throughout his life in this industry in Wyoming, Colorado, South Dakota and Utah, retiring in 1997.
With his loving wife, they traveled for the next few years, returning to Grand Junction Colorado.  Later they moved to Torrington Wyoming where they spend 10 years.  They then decided to move to Mesquite, Nevada, in 2015, to be close to their daughters.
Delwin loved the outdoors and enjoyed  hunting, fishing, and camping.  He grew up doing these activities with his parents, wife and family. One of his favorite places to go was the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming. He also enjoyed woodworking and made many treasures for his family.  He loved being with his family and especially loved  playing board games with them whenever he could.  He also loved sports and was a huge fan of the Denver Broncos.
Delwin and his family found God and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1960.  Delwin and his family were sealed in March of 1969 in the Manti Temple. He held various callings in the Church, one was serving as the Branch President in Rifle Colorado.
He is survived by his wife Arlene; his daughter Renee, Mesquite, Nevada; his son Randahl (Helen Young) Weeks, Longview Washington; his son Douglas, Torrington, Wyoming; brother Richard (Betty Rollins) Weeks, of McComb Mississippi; Anne Olsen of Guernsey Wyoming.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Denee Hammon Cress, Melisa Hammon Rearick, Angela Weeks, Amanda Hammon Lee, Mark Delwin Weeks, Justin Tyrel Hammon, Heidi Weeks Durant, Brenton Kendahl Hammon, Aubrey Weeks Southworth, Bradley Richard Weeks, Braeden Owen Hammon, Talon Riley Weeks, CheyAnne Weeks. Delwin is also the great grandfather of 32 great grandchildren.
Delwin was preceded in death by his daughter, Carolyn Lynn Weeks; his father, Samuel Erwin Weeks; his mother Ellen Myrtle Coleman Weeks; two brothers, Gary Erwin Weeks, and Rodney Allard Weeks.
He will be remembered by all those who knew and loved him as a fun loving, supportive and good humored husband and father.
