David Smart

David G. Smart, age 79 passed away on December 2, 2016 in Mesquite, Nevada.

David was born in Salt Lake City, Utah where he married Gloria Nay Smart who was the love of his life. While raising his family he worked for the Utah Power and Light Company where he held several different positions. In 1995, after working for 30 years, he retired and joined his wife and lived in Texas, Ireland, and Oklahoma. After Gloria retired in 2003 they moved to Mesquite, Nevada where they enjoyed their retirement years and enjoyed living in the atmosphere of this small, friendly city.

David loved his country and served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1965.

David is survived by his wife Gloria, and three daughters, Cindy, Debbie and Sherri.

His final request was not to have a funeral or memorial service, but instead David wanted people to take a moment to look around at the ones they love and choose to make a difference in their lives. He wanted his children to celebrate his life and truly know that they were loved.

The family requests and would appreciate that in lieu of flowers that they make a donation to the National Kidney Foundation.
