David Keith Lane
February 22, 1935 — March 24, 2014
David Keith Lane passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, March 24, 2014. He was born on February 22, 1935 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was the youngest of 10.
Dave and Lillian spent many years traveling and living in other states. Finally, in 1999, he found Mesquite, NV and settled here. He was a fixture in the Casa Blanca Race Book. Dave loved horse racing, studying each race before it ran. His enthusiasm for his horses and keno made him many friends. Hockey was a great part of his life. He played for many years in California, for the Las Vegas Gamblers and Reno Aces. Dave also played in a hockey tournament in Scotland. If there is ice in heaven, Dave will surely be playing a good game.
Dave was generous to a fault giving a helping hand without anyone asking. When he smiled at you, you knew you had a friend.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lillian; sister, Anna Lane of Halifax; and his brother, Philip of Vancouver, B.C.
