Darrell LaMar Shakespear, age 52, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born December 17, 1957 to Preston LaMar and Louise Brinkerhoff Shakespear. On August 9, 1986 he married Kayleen Littlefield in the St. George LDS Temple.
Darrell grew up in small towns throughout Utah, Idaho and Arizona as his family moved with his father's work for the forest service. He served in the US Army including a tour in Korea. He raised his family in Las Vegas working for Anderson Dairy. He was an active member of the LDS church, serving in many callings including as a counselor in a bishopric. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, gardening, camping and fishing in Tropic, Utah. He had a great sense of humor and found great joy in being with his wife, children, family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Kayleen, two sons and one daughter: Darrell Kallahan, Kaiden David and Kayla Deanna, all of Las Vegas, NV; his mother, Louise (Jim) England; grandmother, Ora Brinkerhoff both of Tropic, UT; two brothers and one sister, Douglas Elden (Janet) of Santaquin, UT; Kevin DeLynn (Kay) of Tropic, UT and Kim Melinda (Robert) Dotson of Enoch, UT.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Hollywood and Stewart LDS Chapel, Las Vegas, Nevada. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. prior to services at the chapel. A second funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2 p.m. (Utah Time) at the Tropic LDS Chapel. Again visitation will be from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Tropic Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary, 702 398-3600.
