Daniel Harold Shipman, age 64 died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born May 7, 1952 in San Jose, California to Harold and Noel Shipman. On Marcy 18, 1977 he married Sharon Christine Gentry in Paso Robles, California. Daniel grew up in Atascadero, California. He raised his family in nearby Paso Robles, California where he worked as a heavy equipment operator and later as a truck driver. He retired to Mesquite, Nevada in January of this year. He had an appreciation for classic cars and enjoyed going to, and participating in car shows. He also loved to play golf. Survivors include his wife, Sharon; their son, Michael; grandson, Clayton, all of Mesquite, NV: one brother and two sisters: Anne Flynn of Las Vegas, NV; John (Erica) of Toquerville, UT and Monica (Cary) Bennett of Atascadero, California; in-laws Ruth and Don McMillan; sister-in-law Kathleen Gentry; three nieces and five nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Virgin Valley Mortuary, 320 E. Old Mill Road, Mesquite, Nevada. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will follow in the Mesquite City Cemetery.
