Daniel T. LaFleur, born April 23, 1930 in Menominee, Michigan died January 7, 2013 in Provo, Utah. He was preceded in death by parents, Henry & Clara plus 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Dan served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as Petty Officer SH3 aboard the USS Adirondeck. When leaving the Navy he returned to Michigan and was active in motion picture theater management, and served as district manager for Wisconsin and Michigan areas. He also served as director, treasurer of MEN-MAR Broadcasting Corporation (WAGN Radio) for a number of years. In 1955 he, along with Floyd Van Cleve, purchased the Star Cleaners, Tailors, Furriers and Laundry. After two years he purchased from his ailing partner his shares and operated independently for 35 years. He sold the operation on his 60th birthday. Dan was very active in civic affairs and served as Director and 1st Vice President of the Area Chamber of Commerce, and in the same stature in the Ambassadors Club. He was a 50 plus year member in the American Legion and active in the Lions, Elks and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served on the County Board as a Commissioner for 12 years. Dan was a member of La Virgen de Guadalupe Catholic Church. Daniel is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia (Halfmann) of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and his two daughters, Renee Boffy (Michael) of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Cheryl Grossman (Ward) of Daniel, Wyoming, and four granddaughters, Shelby and Shawna Barnes, and Heather and Morgan Grossman. A grandson, Caleb Grossman, also preceded him in death. When leaving Michigan at retirement, Daniel and Patricia moved to Chandler, Arizona for 8 years and then moved to Mesquite, Nevada in 2000. Cremation has taken place and is under the direction of the Virgin Valley Mortuary of Mesquite, Nevada.
