Daniel "Jake" Dagenais

September 2, 1936 — February 24, 2016

Daniel Reinhardt "Jake" Dagenais, age 79, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at his home in Overton, Nevada. He was born September 2, 1936 in Marquette, Michigan to Elmer F. and Gladys F. Dagenais. On June 7, 1958 he married Barbara Ann McRae in Escanaba, Michigan. They met at a roller skating rink in 1956 and have been together ever since.

Jake grew up and raised his family in Marquette. He was a hard worker and loved working outdoors the most. He worked in dairy industry 45 years processing milk, making cheese and ice cream. In 1980 he moved his family to Overton, Nevada where he managed the Logandale Dairy. He retired in 1999 after a stroke and struggled for 16 years from numerous medical conditions. Afterwards he loved working with wood, puzzles and decorating for Christmas and most holidays. He enjoyed gardening, riding motorcycles and his greatest joy, playing with his granddaughters. When he was able to he liked to watch Dennis in desert races. He had a very beautiful and infectious smile. Jake was a very giving person.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years Barbara, one daughter, Lori and her husband Carey Robarge of San Antonio TX; one son, Dennis of Overton NV; grandfather to Jessica Robarge of Virginia Beach VA; and Meghan Robarge of Galveston TX; and step-sister Margaret Rickerd of Beaverton OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and many nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed traveling to the numerous destinations where his daughter was stationed during her and Carey's military career. He was born loving all animals, especially our dogs-Sammie, Bear, Freckles, Dickens, Lady and Queenie.

There will be a Mass Intentions for Jake Dagenais at St. John's Catholic Church on 13 March 2016. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
