Dan Rocks

April 6, 1976 — December 30, 2016

Daniel Paul Rocks, age 40, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada from a pulmonary embolism. He was born April 6, 1976 in a United States Air Force hospital on Royal Air Force Lakenheath (air base) located in Suffolk County, England to Lorin Richard and Elisabetta Maria Corvo Rocks. His father was stationed in England while serving in the USAF. On April 23, 2005 he married Emily Suzanne Day in the Las Vegas LDS Temple.


Dan lived in England and Saudi Arabia before moving to Provo, Utah at the age of six. His family moved to Sunnyvale, California in 1987, where he lived for over 16 years. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from BYU in 2000, and then earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2003 and started his practice. Believing that he could do more for his patients, he moved his family to Las Vegas, Nevada to attend Touro University Medical School, where he was in his fourth year.


Dan was a great athlete as a young man, excelling in football and wrestling. He was an Eagle Scout with five palms and loved to study and to learn. He loved life and was often the center of social activities. He loved game nights, hosting parties, cooking and entertaining friends. He was a great story teller and musician, he played the guitar and ukulele and sang very well. He was OBSESSED with BYU sports, particularly football, and enjoyed geography and trivia. He loved his children and spent every possible moment with them. He will be remembered for his commitment to family and love of life.

Survivors include his wife: Emily, one daughter and two sons: Isabella, 9, Decker, 4, and Beckett, 1, all of Las Vegas, NV; parents: Lorin and Elisabetta Rocks of San Jose, CA; grandmother: Viola Adamson Weeks of Sandy, UT; and one brother: David of San Jose, CA.


Memorial services will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Smoke Ranch LDS Chapel, 7401 Smoke Ranch Road, Las Vegas, NV. Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com
