Dale George Hunt

Dale George Hunt, aged 86, peacefully passed away on April 11, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on April 6, 1938, in St. George, Utah, to Ferlin Hunt and Verda Peterson. On December 27, 1977, he married his sweetheart Linda Stokes in the St. George Utah Temple.

Dale spent the first half of his life working hard on the family dairy farm in Bunkerville, Nevada, where he grew up. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Southern States Mission where he taught the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. He continued to serve faithfully in many church callings throughout his life. He attended Utah State University, earning degrees in Bachelor of Science and Master of Education. Dale had a great love for the scriptures and a passion for teaching them. Known for this natural teaching ability, Dale made a significant impact during his tenure in the Church Education System, teaching seminary for high school students and institute for college students.

Later, he relocated with his family to Las Vegas, Nevada, dedicating over 30 years to work at the Tropicana Hotel. Dale's unparalleled love and commitment to his family were evident throughout his life. He was renowned for his generous heart and willingness to serve others, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Dale's family and his acts of service were the cornerstones of his life, reflecting his unwavering dedication and kindness.

Dale is survived by his wife Linda Hunt; their eight children: Daelyn (Kent) Kingston, Verdawn Hunt, Teira (Ben) Nicholes, George (Rebecca) Hunt, Ferlayna (Zachary) Mitchell, Andrew (Allyson) Hunt, Dean (Sydney) Hunt, Austin Hunt; and their grandchildren: Megan, Kristin, Bridgit, Kaylyn, Joni, Kelden, Teila, Michael, Alayna, Janna, Zackary, Chrisalyn, Amaya, Drew, Makayla, Davy, Lucy, Della, Susanna, Noah, Charlotte, Leah, Marshall, Lincoln, Isaac, Hailey, Kayla, Benjamin, Levi, Cassie, Savannah, and Samuel. He is also survived by his siblings-- Gerry (Billie) Hunt, Roger (Mauna Sue) Hunt, Joy (Garry) Noel, and Sue (Kerry) Woods.


Dale was preceded in death by his father and mother: Ferlin and Verda Hunt, his stepmother: Julia Felshaw Hunt, his sister: Marsha Hunt, and his grandson: Chasin Hunt.


A viewing will be held on Saturday April 20, 2024, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 9270 S. Maryland Pkwy, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123, followed by a funeral service to celebrate Dale's life at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, interment will be held at Bunkerville Cemetery in Bunkerville, Nevada, at 3:00 PM.
