Clifton Kay Conk, age 86, died Monday, January 21, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born January 22, 1926 in Payson, Utah to Leo Alma and Edna Kay Conk. On December 3, 1946 he married Rose Evelyn Prestwich in Provo, Utah. On June 23, 1948 they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death on December 18, 2001. Clifton grew up in Payson. He served in the US Army during WWII, first in Europe and later in the Pacific. He raised his family in Utah County, Lander Wyoming, where he worked for US Steel. In the early '60's he moved his family to Las Vegas, Nevada where he went into the restaurant business. He was very successful for the next 40 years, owning and operating several restaurants with his sons. He loved fishing, hunting, going to the sand dunes and being in the outdoors. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his two sons: Phillip (Sue) of Las Vegas, NV; Terry (Becky) of Logandale, NV; six grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; three brothers in law: Melvin Burgener of Ivins, UT; Eldon Aston of Santa Clara, UT and Lloyd (Virginia) Prestwich of Murray, UT. He was preceded by one brother, Marlo. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale LDS Stake Center. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the Chapel. Interment will be Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 10 a.m. (Utah Time) in the Orem City Cemetery, Orem, Utah.
