Charlotte Lucille Fjeld, age 80, died Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Highland Manor of Mesquite, Nevada. She was born August 8, 1936 to Harold (Ted) Palmer and Esther Krause in Aneta, North Dakota. She met the love of her life Gerald (Jerry) Fjeld and they were married August 23, 1953. She and Jerry celebrated 63 years of marriage this past August.
Charlotte earned her PHT degree (Putting Hubby Through) from NDSU in Fargo, North Dakota, while gaining banking experience. This experience served her well and banking became her life's career. She enjoyed helping people, opening new accounts, balancing their accounts and advising them financially. She enjoyed banking and worked in many different capacities, including bank manager.
Charlotte loved serving others and did so through her love for music. She especially loved children and made sure the Lutheran Churches she attended had a children's choir. While serving the St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Palmdale, CA she served as the director for the children's choir, the youth choir and the senior choir. When the organist left for college she started playing the organ. She also invited members of the Methodist Church Choir to participate in an Easter Cantata. She joined the Mesquite United Methodist Church Choir when she retired to Mesquite, NV in 2002.
The joy of Charlotte's life was her family and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She has 5 sons Chad(Lynn) of Visalia, CA, Cory(Pam) of Coeur D'Alene, ID, Kyle of Palmdale, CA, Kent of Kingsburg, CA and Todd(Nancy) of Tehachapi, CA; 23 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, not all being direct descendants. Her sister, Janice Blanche Palmer Griffin (John) of Peabody, MASS.
Charlotte is preceded in death by one grandson, Travis Paul Fjeld; her parents, Harold and Esther Palmer; and her brother El Roy Palmer.
A celebration of Charlotte's life will be held on January 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mesquite United Methodist Church, 420 W. Pioneer Blvd., Mesquite, NV . The family invites you to leave a message or a memory in their "Guest Book" at www.virginvalleymortuary.com.
