Charles Hale Woods
Charles Hale Woods passed away Wed, March 24, 2010 at Dixie Regional Medical Center. Hale was born Jan. 4, 1927 to Joseph Fredrick and Orpha Hardy Woods. He spent his years before high school in Clover Valley (Barclay), NV. He still calls Barclay home. He attended high school in Mesquite and graduated from Virgin Valley High School in 1945. Upon returning home to Mesquite, the cute little go getter that worked at Vonda's Cafe caught his eye and his heart. Hale and Vera Mae Lee were married on Nov. 15, 1947 and have shared over 62 years of married life together. They added a son, Val, and a daughter, Janice, to their family. Eventually their 7 jewels, or grand children, were added and they have since added 12-1/2 great grand children.
Hale worked at the US Lime Plant for 40 years, after a short retirement he became a crossing guard for the City of Mesquite for 11 years. This was his dream job. He loved the children and has become known as "Grandpa" to everyone who crossed his path.
