Charles Dale Murdock
August 7, 1930 — October 18, 2017
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Charles Dale Murdock. He peacefully passed away at home at the age of 87 on October 18, 2017. He was born on August 7, 1930 in Blackfoot, Idaho. His parents were Gayland and Luella Murdock.
Charles was a dedicated military man, and served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1978 and retired as a Commander with many medals including the Meritorious Service Medal, three Navy Good Conduct Medals, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Star, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Charles married the love of his life, Irene, 67 years ago. Charles and Irene enjoyed many summers with family and friends at their cabin in Island Park, Idaho, where he enjoyed boating, fishing and being outdoors. Charles loved his family, had many friends, and was an inspiration to us all.
He is survived by his sweetheart, Irene, and children; Randy (Denise) Murdock, Charlene Southwick, and Debbie (Wynn) Hone. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Raymond. He had eight grandchildren and thirty-seven great-grandchildren.
