Catherine Angela Quinn

Catherine Angela Quinn, age 81, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in St. George, Utah. She was born May 7, 1932 in South Hampton, New York to Owen Francis and Catherine Angela McCarthy McGarry. On May 29, 1954 she married Wesley Lewis Quinn in Portland, Maine. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2005.

Catherine grew up in upstate New York. At around age 12, she moved to Maine. After her marriage to Wesley, they relocated to San Diego, California where they raised their two children. Catherine worked for Pacific Bell Telephone Company as a Telephone Fraud Investigator for 34 years, she took her retirement in 1984. Her and Wesley began to travel a bit after her retirement, she enjoyed her trips in the motorhome and her trips to Puerta Vallarta. In 1990, they moved to West Gardener, Maine, where she enjoyed her flower gardens, vegetable garden and their amazingly beautiful property. They were able to spend quality time with their extended family they had left so long before. In 2002 they moved to Mesquite, Nevada and resided with her daughter. Her greatest joy came from time with her husband, children and granddaughter.

Survivors include her son Rick Quinn of San Diego, CA; daughter, Karyn Quinn Paytas of Mesquite, NV and one granddaughter, Daygan Jade of Mesquite, Nevada, 3 brothers, Owen & David McGarry and Jimmy Joseph Quinn 2 sisters, Madeline Quinn and MaryAnn Quinn, several nieces and nephews, all of which are in Maine.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Virgin Valley Mortuary, 320 E. Old Mill Road, Mesquite, Nevada. Visitation will be from 9:30 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will be Monday, March 17, 2014 at 12 Noon at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, Nevada.
