CATHERINE LOUISE HATHAWAY

Catherine Louise Hathaway, 59, passed away on November 13, 2011 at her home in Mesquite, Nevada. Cathy was born February 24, 1952 in Long Beach, California to Earl and Carolyn Crane Hurst. She married Gary Hathaway, April 28, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Cathy loved animals, she belonged to We Care For Animals and was lovingly known as "Rescue Lady". Over the years she has always had at least one pet from rats, birds, dogs, cats, iguana and even a horse. Further, Cathy enjoyed needlepoint, antiquing, designing stained glass, bowling and gambling. She also belonged to the Desert Dames. She had a great sense of humor (she had to in order to put up with Gary), and loved helping others. She was the love of Gary's life. They lovingly called each other Mister and Madam.

She is survived by her sister Thea Sperline (John) of Helena, MT; father and mother-in-law Albert & Edna Hathaway of, Orange, CA, four sisters-in-law, Nancy Jenkins (Jonathan) of Fullerton, CA; Kathie Moore (Edwin) of Picayune, MS; Cindy McPherson (Jim) of Victorville, CA and Janey Hathaway of Hemet,CA. She has many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Carolyn Hurst.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the Virgin Valley Mortuary, Mesquite, Nevada.
