“Smiley” Catherine Frances Arnold, 62, passed away in her home in Moapa, Nevada on March 5, 2024. Smiley was born on May 18, 1961 in Honolulu, HI to Donald Allan Szymczak and Donna Jean Waugh.
Smiley was loving, forgiving, and had a spicy personality that made everyone laugh. She was well known for her delicious baking skills. On most weekends before her illness, you could find her enjoying nature with her husband Eddie Arnold and her beloved girls Dixie, Pixie, and Coco. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and side-by-side rides. She loved different crafts, creating wind chimes, knitting, and making book art. She loved all animals, especially her dogs, “children”, Dixie, Pixie, and Coco. She worked as an administrative assistant for several years for a title company, then worked at Southern Nevada Paving for another ten years before retiring. She met Edward Hilton Arnold when he asked her for their first dance. She and Eddie became good friends and were later married on April 22, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie Arnold; step-daughters, Shelly Arnold and Angela Moomey; Son-in-law Daniel Moomey, and granddaughters, McKayla Moomey and Meadow Moomey; and by her mother, Donna Szymczak. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Szymczak and her brothers, Donny and Frank Szymscak.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Warm Springs Cemetery, Moapa, Nevada. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their Guest Book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com
