Caroline Myrtle Szekely "Carrie", 87, passed away Monday , January 26, 2010 in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born March 16, 1922 in Arlington, Washington the oldest of four children to Andrew and Bridget Berry Danielson.
Carrie grew up in the Arlington, Washington area and graduated from Darrington High School. She married Charles Steve Szekely in 1941 in Aberdeen, Washington. They raised their family in Bothell, Washington. Chuck passed away in 1994 and Carrie moved to Mesquite, Nevada in 2007 to be closer to her daughter.
Carrie loved clam digging, doing ceramics, sewing, working in the yard and gardening. She enjoyed playing the slot machines and could always pick the machine that was about to hit it big. She is survived by two children; Charlotte (Ed) Alsman of Mesquite, NV and Steve (Erin) Szekely of Bothell, WA; brother Richard (Montine) Danielson) of Mt. Vernon, WA; three grandchildren Todd, Paul and Sam; and two great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Szekely; brother Joe Danielson and sister Hazel Gladsjo.
