Carol Stearman

September 22, 1950 — August 1, 2014

Heaven welcomed home an angel as Carol passed from this world on August 1, 2014, surrounded by members of her family, in San Jacinto, California. She was born September 22, 1950 to Terry Harvey Phillips and Harriet Ada Williams, the second of nine children, in Pioche, Lincoln County, Nevada.

She attended elementary school in Pioche, Bristol Silver, Caliente and Henderson, attended junior high and high school in Henderson, graduating from Basic High School in 1968. She received a full 2,000 hour scholarship to the University of Cosmetology at Southern Nevada, graduating in December 1969.

She married Michael R. Stearman on March 18, 1969, in the St. George Temple. They were blessed with four daughters: Michelle Renee Shaffer of Boerne, TX; Corinna Marie (Todd) Hartsch of Midlothian, VA; Monica Rae (Doug) Stalford of Hemet, CA; Andrea Celeste (Vincent) Argondizzo of Las Vegas, NV; three sons: Michael Clint (Christel) of Henderson, NV; William John (Stefanie) of Hopkinton, MA; Randall Wesley (Monique) of Las Vegas, NV; 14 grandchildren; three brothers: Richard (Melody) of Wellsville, UT, Ronald (Sue) of Wasilla, AK; Roy (Karen) of Santa Clara, UT; three sisters: JoAnn (Glenn) Tharp of Spanish Fork, UT, Kathy Bahr of Lehi, UT and LuAnn (Lynn) Simonsen of South Jordan, UT. She is preceded in passing by her parents; brother, Roland Wayne Phillips, sister, Debra Karen Pace and granddaughter, Michael Sarah Thomas.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in several positions, including twelve years as an ordinance worker in the Las Vegas Nevada Temple and ten months in the San Antonio Texas Temple.

The family expresses appreciation to the wonderful personnel at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda, California and Companion Hospice, Riverside (Ca) Office, for the love and care provided her.

A viewing will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014, at the Moapa Valley Mortuary from 12 to 1 PM, followed by a short service. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery.
