Carma Adams

October 19, 1927 — January 26, 2016

Carma Silva Lee Adams, age 88, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 26, 2016 in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born October 19, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Richard and Silva Antonnette Jensen Lee. Carma was the oldest of nine children.

Carma for the most part grew up on ranches in the mountains between Elko and Ely, Nevada. As a young girl, she worked her own trap lines and had daily responsibilities on the family ranch. While living in Salt Lake City with her family, she met and married Don Elmer Adams. They moved back to the Ely area and later settled in Pioche, Nevada. Her husband passed away while she was fairly young leaving her to raise and support her children alone including the care of her disabled son, Michael. Always a hard worker, she enjoyed gardening and working outside, growing fruit trees from pits/seeds, enjoying lovely flower beds and gathering seeds every fall to plant in the spring. She worked in various restaurants, cooked for the local Senior Center and finally in the Pioche Elementary School lunchroom making delicious homemade rolls and fresh cooked meals for her little friends.

Survivors include four sons and one daughter: Don (Dottie) of Logandale, NV; Ken (Susie) and Diane (Felix) Murrin of Pioche, NV; Rick (Ramona) of Fernley, NV; Joe (Teresa) of Reno, NV; 17 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter; one brother and two sisters: Eugene (Bud) Lee of Kearns, UT; Beverly (Bill) Wilcox and Madge Christensen, both of Salt Lake City, UT; brother-in-law Blaine Pearce of Bountiful, UT and sisters-in-law Nancy Lee of W., Valley City, UT and Vanessa Lee of Orlando, FL. She was preceded in death by husband Don, two sons: Michael and Christopher, her parents, brothers: Bruce and LaVar; sisters: Shirley, Ethel and Rayma.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Pioche Community Cemetery.
