Carl Thomas Piper, age 75, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at his home in Overton, Nevada. He was born January 20, 1938 in Platteville, Colorado to Kenneth M. And Helen Macklin Piper. On June 13, 1956 he married Marybeth Jones in Leadville, Colorado. She preceded him in death on August 14, 2012. Carl grew up in Silt, Colorado. He loved to go camping, hunting and fishing when he was younger. Carl and Mary Beth raised their family in Ely, Nevada and moved to Logandale in 1983. He worked as a welder at Kennecott in White Pine County and later at Nevada Energy in Moapa. He enjoyed raising goats and sheep and working outside. Survivors include one daughter, Loree Beth Piper of Las Vegas, NV; one son, Russell Paul of Grand Junction, CO; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Private family services will be held.
