Calvin Meyers

Calvin Ward Meyers, age 57, entered the Great Creator's loving, comforting arms Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 8:43 a.m. He was born September 9, 1955 in Las Vegas to Herbert Ward Meyers and Christina Samson Meyers. He was married to the late Mitzi Pete Meyers. Calvin graduated from Stewart Indian School. He loved to cook, do beadwork and take pictures. He worked at Nevada Power, and as Environmental Department Tribal Chairman. He is survived by one brother, Randy Meyers of Moapa, nephews; Adam Hylton, Aarron Hylton, Uncle Bud Meyers and family; Aunt Effie Smith all of St. George, UT, The Swick Family of Parker, AZ, Angela Sanchez of Las Vegas, Sam and Gloria Evanston of Mohave Valley, Arizona. He is preceded in death by siblings; Darwin Samson, Russell Samson, Rupert Meyers, Lori Harrison Hylton, Merton Jack Meyers. Calvin will be dearly missed by special dear friend Holly Woodward and many cousins. Services were held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Moapa Tribal Building with a Traditional Indian Sing following and interment in the Moapa Indian Cemetery.
