Bruce Brunson

Born in Clovis, New Mexico, November 6, 1956, Bruce Brunson went on to kneel at our Father's feet on June 10, 2008. Bruce was raised in many states as well as in Trier and Bitburg, Germany, as the family supported their father's career with the United States Air Force. Bruce graduated high school in Las Vegas, and went on to begin a 23 year career with the United States Army-National Guard. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 222 Field Artillery when they left from their St. George Unit in 2005.

Bruce spent many years living in Wilson and Jackson, Wyoming. There he worked with the Teton County School District, various food and beverage establishments and the Jackson Airport. With the airport he served as an Aircraft Rescue Firefighter. Since 2002, he has worked with the Casa Blanca Security division in Mesquite, Nevada.

His family and friends will treasure memories he shared with us of his incredible sense of humor, and the stories he told us of canoeing, hunting, gold panning, and his love for exploring caves and the wilderness. Most all of us watched many times as he rode off into new horizons on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. We will always remember Bruce to be one of the most kind and knowledgeable people we'll ever know. He is survived by his wife, Karin of Beaver Dam, Arizona; his mother, Inez Davis Brunson of Las Vegas, Nevada; his sister, Belinda McClellan of Henderson, Nevada; and two brothers, Carl and Alan, both of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Brunson.

He will be honored at a memorial service for friends and family to offer their respect at the Elks Lodge in Mesquite on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 1 pm. The family invites you to leave a message of memory in our "Memorial Guestbook" at www.virginvalleymortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Virgin Valley Mortuary, 702-346-6060.
