Brian Scott Petitt, 63, passed away on January 12, 2025 in his home in Overton, NV. Brian was born on March 7, 1961 in the 5040th Military Hospital in Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, AK to Paul Louis Petitt and Gesiena Mary Louise Rogers. The hospital billed $5.75 for his birth. Brian was raised in Alaska, and spent some time in Wyoming. He loved terrorizing his brother, Brent, and sister, Kathleen, as they would walk their snare lines. At fifteen, Brian started to guide hunting tours around Mt. McKinley. He and his family moved to Wyoming in 1978, where he graduated form Campbell Co. High School in 1980. He worked at dude ranches like Crossed Sabres Ranch and Rim Rock, and would guide hunting tours in Wyoming. He also worked in Gillete, WY, building conveyor belts for the power plant. In 1988, he moved to Overton, NV where he worked as an operator for Las Vegas Paving. He worked there for thirty-three years before retiring in 2022. When he moved to Overton, he met Sandy Biederman, and they were married in 1989. In 2000, they welcomed their first son, Justin, and their second son, Wyatt, in 2003. He and Sandy were later divorced.
Brian loved shooting guns, metal and wood working, jeeping and off-roading, and riding motorcycles. He loved music, and made a few of his own cigar box guitars. He loved hunting with his boys, and going fly fishing. He was hardworking and taught this skill to his sons. He had a great sense of humor with his one-liners, and tried to treat people kindly. He was a patriot of his country and loved war history.
Brian is survived by his sons, Justin (Kelsi Ross) Petitt and Wyatt (Matti Rhodes) Petitt; his mother, Gesiena “Mitzi” Petitt; his sister, Kathleen (Randy) Lincoln, his former wife, Sandy, his sister-in-law Susan (Lindsey) Merrill and his extended family. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Petitt, and his brother, Brent Petitt and wife Cindy; and in-laws, Albert and Phyllis Biederman, and brother-in-law, John Biederman.
