Bonnie Kay Black

Bonnie Kay Black, 55, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Mesa View Regional Hospital. She was born August 3, 1958 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Kenneth Howard and Dora Mae Mackey Mills. She married William Tyler Black on April 17, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bonnie grew up in Pleasant Grove, Utah and later graduated from Hurricane High School. She enjoyed gymnastics in her youth. She moved to Mesquite working at the old Western Village. She lived in Las Vegas, working for the culinary union in human resources, but later moved back to Mesquite. She was a restaurant manager in the River CafAC. at the Virgin River Casino where she created a lot of strong relationships with co-workers and guests that she cherished. She often referred to them as her "kids." She was always filled with energy and joy. She had a great sense of humor and an even greater laugh. She loved to read, care for her little dogs and sing and dance. Her greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband Tyler of Mesquite; one son and two daughters: Leslie (Christian) Adderson of Mesquite, NV; Preston (Heather) Mills of Las Vegas, NV; Charlotte (Fernando) Romero of Mesquite, NV; 13 grandchildren; three brothers and seven sisters: Pat (Brent) Jackson of East Carbon, UT; Chris (Steve) Black of Pleasant Grove, UT; Cennie (Larry) Smith of Pleasant Grove, UT: Gayle (Sue) Mills of San Diego, CA; Lori (Rick) Houston of Overton, NV; Lesa Pace of Spanish Fork, UT; Melissa (Michael) Manhard of Spanish Fork, UT; Shane Hoopes of Lovelock, NV; LaShan (Myrna) Hoopes of Mesquite, NV and Brad Mills of Heber Valley, UT. She is preceded in death by her sister Jackie Mills; her mother, Dora Mills and father, Ken Mills.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Hafen Park, Mesquite, Nevada. Visitation will be held January 15, 2014 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the River Valley Bible Church, 190 E. Mesquite Blvd., Mesquite, Nevada.
