Bobbie Washburn

September 5, 1943 — March 5, 2015

Ellamae M. Washburn of Hiko, Nevada age 71 went home to live with Father in Heaven on March 5th in St. George Utah. Ellamae (Bobbie) as born in Los Angeles California on September 5, 1943 to Ernest Christopher Savage and Mildred Mary Pickett. She was the youngest of four children. She married the love of her life, Vell Ewell Washburn on October 20, 1969 in Virginia City, Nevada.

Ellamae swore her mother did not like her that is why she gave her that name, her brothers decided to call her Bobbie and that is what she has been called all her life. Bobbie loved her family and wanted them to always get together. Bobbie loved big family dinners and wanted people to come visit whenever they could. Bobbie had many jobs in her life, she waited tables, she was a proof-reader for a large company, she took in 25 foster children, and an active member of the Eastern Star and she even worked as a dispatcher at the Lincoln County Sheriff's office, but her favorite thing was taking care of her family. She always said she was uneducated but that was not true she could teach herself to do anything. She oil painted, did glass etchings and the last few years she did quilling. This was meticulous work that required hours of gluing small pieces of paper together to make beautiful pictures. If your were lucky enough to get one of her works of art please treasure it and know she did it with love. She loved to try new things and even up to her death she had been reading and learning new things.

Bobbie is survived by her brother, David (Barbara) Savage, Kingman Arizona Larry (Vivian) Savage of Hollywood, Florida; husband, Vell Ewell Washburn, Hiko, Nevada; Children; Art (Barbara) Washburn, Pioche, Nevada; Eric (Simone) Washburn, Patterson Heights Pennsylvania; Sherry (Philip) Spencer, Hiko, Nevada; Robert (Gloria) Washburn, Panaca, Nevada; and Tara Washburn, Las Vegas , Nevada; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
