Beverly Anne Snodgress

Beverly Anne Taylor Snodgress, age 88, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at her home in St. George, Utah. She was born June 13, 1926 in Ogden, Utah to Ace Joseph and Ethel Christiana Stander Taylor. On July 30, 1951 she married Romain "Boze" Francis Snodgress in Salt Lake City, Utah. They divorced in 1977 and he preceded her in death on June 24, 1989.

Beverly grew up in Bear River, Utah where she graduated high school, then began working at the Special Services Department at Bushnell Army Hospital in Brigham City. After the end of the war, she entered Westminster College where she earned her Bachelors degree and met her husband. When her children were still young, she decided to go back to school to earn her Teachers Degree and spent 23 years as an elementary school teacher at Peruvian Park in Sandy. After retiring, she traveled the world and for the next 22 years volunteered at Cottonwood Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, Westminster College and later Dixie Regional, IHC. She believed volunteering was good for a person and is the way to invest in your community. She lived a life committed to her family, friends an students and she will be remembered for her loving service to others.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter: Jack (Elizabeth) of Taylorsville, UT; Chris (Kevin) Green of Logandale, NV; Jeffrey (Chris) of Hurricane, UT; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; brother, Roger (Colleen) of Pahrump, NV and sister Lucille Chlarson of Logan, UT. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Trude and one sister, Helen.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Jenkins Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, Murray, UT. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will follow in the Murray City Cemetery.
