Betty Hedger

Overton

Betty Ann Hedger, 81, passed on October 1, 2019 in St. George, UT. Betty was born on May 25, 1938 in Peoria, IL to Chauncy Thomson and Ann Florence Stalens.

Betty’s family moved to southern California when she was a child, and she graduated from Antelope Valley High School in 1956. In 1957, she married Larry Hedger, and had three children together. In 1961, they moved their family to Las Vegas, NV, and worked hard as a single mother after her divorce in 1967. She raised her three children while working for Southwest Gas, and later, for the Clark County School District as a bus driver. She absolutely loved the children. Every summer, Betty would load up her kids, and would travel to Rodeos all over to support her children. For her own hobby, she would train and show German Shepherds. She moved to Overton, NV in 1984, and later retired from the school district in 2009. She loved serving others, and would volunteer at the Senior Center and Parks and Rec to drive the Seniors to their various appointments. She always had a dog, and many of the dogs she rescued. Above all, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her son David Wade Hedger and her daughter, Deb Hedger. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chauncy Thomson and Ann Weidel; brother, Harold Thomson; her sister, Mary Lou (Babe) Hose; and her son, Doyle Hedger.

A Celebration of Life will be held with her son, Doyle Britt Hedger, at a later date at the Calvary Community Church. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their Guest Book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com.
