Bessie Margie Wilkinson

Bessie Margie Wilkinson, age 91, died Tuesday May 19, 2015 at her home in Overton, Nevada. She was born February 6, 1924 to Albert LeRoy and Margie Tanner Mott in Santaquin, Utah. On October 12, 1940 she married Glen Charles Wilkinson in Provo, Utah. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1992.

Bessie grew up in Orem, Utah. As a young woman, she worked at Woolworth's Department Store in Provo, Utah as a cook at the luncheon counter. She is well known for her German Chocolate Cake and many other home made foods she made while working there. She raised her family in Orem and later in Green River, Wyoming. In 1978 she retired to Overton, Nevada where she served as the VFW Women's Auxiliary President. She enjoyed sewing and making pies. She was known as the "Pie Maker" and won first place in the Clark County Fair. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include three daughters; Barbara Jepson of Magna, UT; Jane (Michael) Evans of Lewisberry, PA; Judy Dorsey of Overton, NV; daughter in law, Barbara Wilkinson of Green River, WY; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and one sister, Ruth Young of Seal Beach, CA. She is preceded in death by one daughter, Margie, two sons; Roy and Steven; two brothers and two sisters, one grandson and one granddaughter.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the LDS Overton Chapel at 11:00 a.m.
