Bernitta Rutherford

Bernitta Rutherford passed away September 18, 2011. Bernitta was born February 16, 1927 in Niobrara, Nebraska to Claud and Alice Kendall. Bernitta and Donald were married October 07, 1950 at Lowry Air Force Base, Denver, Colorado, they were married for 60 years.

Bernitta and Donald enjoyed a military lifestyle together, after which they settled in Denver, they then spent the last twelve years in Mesquite. Bernitta was a wonderful mother and grandmother and she loved to be surrounded by children. Bernitta even opened her heart and her home to many foster children. Bernitta was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Bernitta is survived by her husband Donald C. Rutherford of Mesquite, Nevada, her children Sherry Albin, Gloria Peddle, Rickey Rutherford, Leigh Ann Huntington, Michelle Rutherford and Michael Rutherford. She leaves behind eighteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 from 9:30 a.m to 11:00 a.m. at the Virgin Valley Mortuary, 320 Old Mill Road , Mesquite, Nevada. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 23, 2011 at the Mesquite City Cemetery.
