Barry Hillman Wood

Barry Hillman Wood, age 65, died Monday, December 9, 2013 at his home in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born October 22, 1948 in Cedar City, Utah to Max Hodges and Phyllis Dalley Wood. On March 17, 2003 he married Shauna Lewis in Laughlin, Nevada.
Barry grew up in Cedar City, Utah. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked with the Iron County Sheriff's Department before becoming a firefighter with the Salt Lake County Fire Department. He moved to Mesquite in 1990, working for the Virgin River Casino. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.
Survivors include his wife Shauna of Mesquite, NV; two sons, Bryan (Shannon) Strate of SLC, UT; Toby (Nicole) Strate of Draper, NV; step son, Nick (Christie) Lewis of Overton, NV; six grandchildren and one sister, Wendy (Enrique) Alfaro of Mesquite, NV.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale Cemetery.
