Barbara Lee Lefler, age 80, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Highland Manor in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born September 8, 1933 in Clawson, Utah to Clifford and Iva Oviatt Jones. On November 13, 1960 she married Carl A Lefler in Elko, Nevada. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1998.
Barbara spent her first 10 years in Central, Utah, then her family moved to Salt Lake City. As she started her young family, they lived in Las Vegas for a short time before making Green River, Wyoming home. After "Snowbirding" for a time, they made Beaver Dam, Arizona home in 1995. She always enjoyed bowling, animals and traveling. She loved supporting her kids and grandchildren in all of their activities. She served faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as both an ordinance worker at the temple and in family history. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, including her love of roller coasters.
Survivors include her son, Rick (Sherry) of Mesquite, NV; daughter, Julie of Beaver Dam, AZ; daughter in law, Debra Deigsler of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one brother and two sisters: Blake (Cathy) Jones of Heber, UT; Colleen Cory and Kathy Aldred both of Salt Lake City, UT and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. (PST) with a visitation from 10 - 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the Littlefield LDS Chapel. Interment will be Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 1 p.m.(MST) at the Upper Francis Cemetery, Francis, Utah. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the LDS Missionary Fund.
