Barbara Lu Howard

February 25, 1931 — April 2, 2009

Barbara Lu Stocks Howard, 78, passed away in Logandale, Nevada, April 2, 2009 with her husband of 57 years at her side. Barbara was born Feb. 25, 1931 to Joshua Frank and Cordelia Gossett Stocks in Clinton, Oklahoma. On December 28, 1951 she married Joseph Henry Howard in Boulder City, Nevada. They were later sealed in the Oakland LDS Temple.

After 25 years of Air Force life, she and her husband returned to Nevada, where they had met in Boulder City almost 65 years prior. Her gentle ways, her faith, intelligence and sparkling sense of humor have guided her children and her husband. Barbara loved being a wife, a mother, and she loved serving within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Barbara is survived by her husband Joseph, daughter, Korrie (Dave) Ford of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Linda (Darrell) Sego of Alpine, UT; son, Buck (Tanna) of Logandale, NV; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Resler of Boulder City, NV; brother, Wayne Stocks of Texas.

She will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege to have known her.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 6, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale LDS Stake Center, 2555 N. St. Joseph, Logandale, NV. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 10:40 AM at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd in Boulder City, Nevada.
